- Notes: Summary A Trailer Driver (also referred to as Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver) is responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently using a tractor-trailer combination across local, regional, or long-distance routes; driver ensures timely delivery, complies with all transport and safety regulations, and maintains accurate driving and vehicle records; Responsibilities Operate and drive tractor-trailers or large trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations; the most efficient routes (local or long-haul) and meet delivery schedules; pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety; Load, unload, or assist in loading cargo and secure it properly to prevent damage; accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, delivery logs, and vehicle inspections; with dispatchers, warehouse teams, and customers regarding schedules and delivery details; any accidents, delays, mechanical issues, or road conditions to management; to all traffic laws, transport industry regulations, and company policies; Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for tractor-trailer operation; experience driving heavy trucks or tractor-trailers (often preferred 1+ years); knowledge of traffic laws, safety practices, and route navigation; to perform basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks; communication skills and reliability on the road; & Attributes ✔ Excellent driving and road navigation skills; �� Ability to work independently and manage long hours on the road; �� Attention to detail for safety checks, compliance documentation, and logs; �� Good physical stamina and awareness for long drives and handling cargo if required; Conditions Most Trailer Drivers work full-time; may be local, regional, or long-distance; must follow mandatory rest periods and federal
